The Stanford Cardinal baseball team is coming of somewhat of a down season for their lofty standards. In 2013 Mark Marquess’s squad finished 33-22, but only eked out a 16-14 record in the PAC-12 and missed the NCAA Tournament for the first time since 2010.

Stanford won’t have 2013 ace Mark Appel along to help them, as the senior graduated and was selected with the first overall pick in the 2013 Major League Baseball entry draft by the Houston Astros. The Cardinal do, however, return slick fielding shortstop Drew Jackson who’s a great bet to make big strides in his sophomore year. The Cardinal’s complete 2014 schedule is below.
