The Baseball diamond is a square 90ft. per side. which makes the distance from Home Plate to 2nd base 127.3 ft. by the Pythagorean Theorem. The distance from the pitchers mound to the grass line, that is infield, is 95ft. This means that 2nd base, and therefore all bases are inside the infield, because 95 + 45 = 140ft. 140 - 127 = 13 ft. So the base farthest out, 2nd base, is 13 feet inside the outfield line. 45' is the distance from the pitchers mound to 2nd base, rounded off. Outfield is anywhere from 13ft outward from 2nd base to the fence., or 95ft. from the Pitchers mound to the fence. Hope this helps.

The dimensions of a major league in field are 90 feet from home plate to first and third base. Now explain: from the point of home plate to what? The to edge of the base ( infield or the out field edge or the middle of the base.?). In other words is the base part of the 90 feet? Is the base in the out field? All layouts I checked do not answer my question. Help
